Amazing guitar for it’s price! Guitar plays and feels good. However, the EMG 81/60 active pickups with the controls is way too temperamental. It’d get too boomy and way too much mid compression. Granted, that was my first guitar with EMG actives.I later got a Schecter with the 25.5″ scale along with EMG 81/85 active pups. I bought the ec 1000 a couple of weeks ago and I gotta say, I’m crazy about this guitar. The black finish and gold hardware on it makes for a beautiful look and the abalone on the inlays and around the body and fret board looks awesome. The emg pick ups are great for long sustains, punchy palm muting, and shrieking pinch harmonics. I don’t know why people complain you can only play metal with these pick-ups though.
